Derbyshire Hill
This area has a range of properties built in the 1930s, 1950s and 1960s and is situated midway between St Helens and Newton le Willows.
- The Avenues are traditionally built, three beds, semi-detached houses, a few of which have been converted to provide ten flats.
- Mount Pleasant Estate was built in the 1950s with an open plan design. There is a mixture of two and three bed houses, one and two bed flats and bungalows. The bungalows are attached to the blocks of terraced houses. There are also two storey blocks of flats which are designated for young/mature and mature/elderly residents.
- Winter Grove is a small estate built in the 1960s and contains two and three bed houses and one and two bed flats. The two storey blocks of flats are suitable for mature and elderly residents.
- Brunswick Street was built in the 1950s and consists of 13 semi-detached, three and four bed, traditionally built houses.
- Cherry Tree Drive was built in the 1950s. There is a mixture of houses flats and bungalows.
All properties in this area are only two miles from St Helens and Newton le Willows. The facilities are good being close to schools, shops, Post Office, Community Centre and being on a main bus route to both towns.
Ashtons Green
This is a popular area with a mixture of estates providing houses and flats.
- Ashtons Green Drive is an area of mostly 1950s houses with a small number of 1930s semi-detached houses. Interspaced between the houses are a small number of 1960s, two storey flats for singles or couples. There is also a small complex of sheltered flats.
- Malvern Road consists of a mixture of houses.
- Cotswold Grove is also a mixture of houses with a small number of four bed properties.
- Cromdale Grove was built in the early 1960s comprising of 35 houses.
- Fleet Lane is a small estate. It includes three property types. Family houses, elderly persons’ bungalows and a block of flats for mature/elderly residents.
This area is also close to a small group of shops including a chemist and is also on a main bus route for both towns.
Parr
Parr also divided into a number of smaller estates. Each estate is approximately 1 mile from St Helens town centre and is also close to a main bus route.
- Tickle Avenue was built in the 1960s and is an open plan estate with a mixture of terraced houses and flats.
- Boardmans Lane comprises of semi-detached houses and flats in an open plan environment.
- Evelyn Avenue is a tree lined avenue with traditional pre-war, semi-detached houses.
- Somerset Park is an area of traditional, pre-war, semi-detached houses with a few bungalows and flats.
All areas are within walking distance of a number of local shops and there are primary and junior schools also within walking distance.
Sutton
Sutton covers a large area of St Helens.
- New Street is an estate that underwent major refurbishment in 1996. Properties range from one bed flats to four bed houses. The area has several local schools and excellent transport links including rail and bus.
- Sandalwood Gardens is currently a mix of bungalows and flats which were refurbished in 1994. The units are sheltered with a resident warden and have community facilities.
- Robins Lane was built in the 1920s and the houses are traditional, semi-detached properties.
- Baxters Lane is a mixture of non-traditional terraced houses built in the 1960s and 1970s. There are also flats some of which are designated for mature/elderly residents.
- Berrys Lane is a mixture of 2 and 3 bed houses built in the 1970’s.
- Sherdley Road is an area of pre-war, terraced houses.
- Watery Lane has three storey flats built in the 1960s and some designated sheltered accommodation.
- Carnegie Crescent was built in the 1970s as an open plan estate with a mixture of houses and flats.
- Hoghton Road was mainly built in the 1950s. There is a mixture of traditional semi-detached properties, flats designated for mature and elderly and some sheltered bungalows.
All of the above estates are within walking distance of Sutton Village and its amenities. All are close to a bus route.
- The Cross Farm Estate in Peasley Cross is made up of one and two bedroom flats and two and three bed houses.
Clock Face
- Four Acre is a mixture of larger two, three, four and five bed houses, including a number of bungalows and one and two bed flats. Built in the 1960’s it includes Pollitt Crescent and Pendlebury Street
- Farm & Field Road are a mixture of two and three bed semi-detached properties built in the late 1960’s/early 1970’s. The estate also has a sheltered scheme which includes flats and bungalows.
- Gorsey Lane is a mixture of bungalows and three bed houses in a quiet community built in the late 1960’s/early 1970’s.
Bold
- Union Bank Lane and Mill Lane . A mixture of two and three bed houses situated in a rural area. Built in the 1960’s/70’s.
Sutton Manor
- Delamere Avenue , a mixture of 2/3 bed houses originally built in the 1970’s but refurbished in the 1990’s through Estate Action Funding.
- Burns Road and Kipling Grove is a mixture of 3 bed, semi-detached pre-war properties.
- Forest Road is one block of 1 and 2 bed flats
