Nominations Open for Making A Difference Awards

The search is on to find dedicated residents who are making a real difference in their communities across St Helens.

Nominations are now open for the annual Making A Difference Awards from Helena Homes, which recognises individuals or community groups who have gone the extra mile to improve their neighbourhoods.

There are six award categories this year:

  • Green Fingers Award - For those who work to improve the environment.
  • Helping Hand Award - For those who provide care for others.
  • Bright Young Star Award - For young people who are trying to achieve.
  • Reaching Out Award - For those who work voluntarily for the benefit of their community.
  • Respect Your Neighbourhood Award - For those who are working to keep their neighbourhoods safe and peaceful.
  • Together We Can Award - For community groups who are making a difference in their neighbourhoods.

Liz Haworth, Helena's Director of Neighbourhoods, said: "The Making A Difference Awards is a chance for us all to celebrate the hard work and dedication that people make to communities across St Helens.

"If there is an individual or group in your local area who gives up their time to help others or make a difference to where you live, we want to hear from you. At Helena, we know that these people can make a real difference in our neighbourhoods, and this is a great way to thank them for their efforts.

"We have had some excellent winners in the past and I'm sure that once again we will see some of the fantastic achievements going on in our estates and it will be great to recognise them."

The closing date for nominations is Monday, August 9. All entries must be completed on an official Making A Difference entry form. To get a copy of the form contact Joanne Lyon on 01744 637383 or download a copy here.
