Green Space Service

Helena is committed to creating greener homes and greener neighbourhoods - and becoming a greener business - and this section tells you about some of the ways we intend to do that.

In January 2010, Helena launched a brand new Green Space Service to care for all the public green spaces in our neighbourhoods.

As part of our commitment to becoming more green, we have developed a new energy efficient building at the heart of our Queensland Estate called the Green Base.

The Green Base is one of just a handful of buildings in the country which meet global Passivhaus environmental standards, offering energy savings of around 90% compared to a normal building. It will act as a community hub for learning about horticulture and allow tenants to play an active role in the development of green space across Helena estates.

The Green Base will also provide a home to Helena's Green Space Service, including landscape specific training opportunities and a number of apprenticeships each year.
